On 28 November 2024, before this year’s Rhandirmwyn & District Community Association’s annual general meeting, the funds raised by the RDCA through its recent “Auction of Promises” fundraising event were presented to the Air Ambulance charity.
The “Auction of Promises” was staged at the Royal Oak pub in Rhandirmwyn on 25 October 2024. It was a wonderful evening, and the local community generously gave a total of £5,616 for 40+ different lots. Added to this, local hydroelectric plant operator H20 had promised to match fund all monies raised up to a limit of £5K. Thus, the RDCA as able to present Air Ambulance representatives with a cheque for a total of £10,616.
The amazing total raised was due in no small measure to:
- A masterly display of auctioneering led by Paul Adams, where humour and guile were used equally to coax bids.
- The unwavering efforts of our Chair Nerys Mai Jones to draw on the generosity of the local community and traders to build a highly impressive range of auction lots
