The day began with the tea tent team huddled under the marquee, listening to the rain hammer down with the sort of enthusiasm normally reserved for waterfalls. It was a slow, damp start — the kind where even the kettles seemed to sigh.
But patience paid off. As the afternoon arrived, the Show Gods finally took pity, the clouds parted, and the field came alive. With sunshine came visitors, and with visitors came a wonderful rush of cuppas, cake slices, and cheerful chatter.
Thanks to that late surge — and the brilliant efforts of our volunteers — the tea tent raised over £500 for the Rhandirmwyn & District Community Association. A fantastic result and a real testament to the spirit of the village.
The volunteer team’s good humour, hard work, and steady kettle‑hand made the tent a welcoming haven throughout the day.
We also want to warmly thank all the residents who baked and donated cakes. The marquee table looked magnificent once the covers came off — a colourful, irresistible spread that drew people in as soon as the weather allowed. Every sponge, tart, brownie and biscuit helped make the tea tent such a success.
And of course, thank you to everyone who stopped by for a cuppa and a slice. You turned a soggy start into a shining community triumph.
