Our village

Rhandirmwyn is a small, close‑knit community nestled in the upper Towy Valley, surrounded by ancient woodland, open hillsides, and the quiet beauty that defines this corner of Carmarthenshire.

Although modest in size, the village has a long and fascinating history — from its mining heritage to the stories of the river, farms, and families who have shaped the area for generations.

A community with heart

What makes Rhandirmwyn special is its people. Neighbours look out for one another, newcomers are welcomed quickly, and community life thrives through local events, clubs, and gatherings. Whether it’s a talk at the Royal Oak, a village quiz night, or a shared celebration, there’s always a sense of belonging.

A Living Heritage

Our district is rich in stories — from the old lead mines to the folklore of the valley. Many residents have deep roots here, and their memories help keep our heritage alive. At the same time, the village continues to evolve, shaped by those who choose to make their home in this peaceful part of Wales.

Looking Forward

The Rhandirmwyn & District Community Association works to support village life, bring people together, and celebrate what makes this place unique. Through events, projects, and partnerships, we aim to strengthen our community and ensure that Rhandirmwyn remains a vibrant, welcoming village for generations to come.
