The Berghaus Dragons Back Race is visiting Rhandirmwyn on Thursday 23 May, the competitors will overnight camp on Broncwrt fields opposite the Towy Bridge pub, as last year.
This is the fourth modern era running of this legendary 5 day mountain race and has attracted 500 mountain runners from all over the world, entries sold out in days a year before the event. It is now on the calendar as an iconic race through the mountains of Wales, starting at Conwy castle and finishing near Llandeilo, the runners covering a gruelling 315 kilometers and 15,500m of ascent it is regarded as the toughest 5 day mountain race in the world.
The leading runners will appear mid-afternoon and the last will be late at night, anyone wishing to cheer a few in or enjoy a pint with them please feel free to come along, it is a prestigious event to have in the village and a chance to showcase our hospitality to visitors from around the world.
