We are so pleased to have renowned archeologist Kevin Murphy for the evening of Thursday 12 March 2026 to talk about the presence and impact of the Roman Empire on the Tywi valley. Kevin works as a project archeologist at Heneb -The Trust for Welsh Archaeology, and is a leading expert on the impact of Roman occupation on Wales during the 1st and 2nd second centuries.
In tonights talk, Kevin will be elaborating on the purpose, impact and lasting legacy of Roman occupation.

This is the first in a programme of talks being planned under the banner of “Talking about the Tywi”. Our aim is to introduce speakers from various fields including history, culture, environment, nature, the arts, earth sciences, and economics to provide insight on the influences that shape the Tywi and its communities.
