The RDCA is very pleased to have local historian Matt Davies presenting a talk about the Bayeux Tapestry entitled: “Threads of Conquest”
The talk will offer a scene‑by‑scene journey through the Bayeux Tapestry, using Charles Stothard’s detailed 19th‑century drawings to bring every moment of the 1066 story to life. The talk breaks down each scene, explains the characters and events, and uncovers the hidden details that make the tapestry such a unique piece of medieval storytelling.
This is a free event, where the presenter has kindly volunteered his time to help propagate information about this amazing historical artefact. For a preview of the presentation, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSbRGJuKy9w
